Museum Duty Manager/ Cafe Supervisor

Working days: Sat & Sun + 2-3 flexible weekdays (36hrs per week)
Headstone Manor & Museum reopens in December 2017 following a £5m refurbishment programme. The museum operates across 4 historic buildings, the 14th century Manor House, 16th century Small Barn, 16th century Great Barn, and 18th century Granary, housing permanent collections and displays and is open 6 days a week. The site now includes a new build Visitor Centre open 7 days a week housing a café and museum shop. We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic person to join the small team as Museum FoH & Cafe Supervisor to support the daily operation of the museum and act as Weekend Duty Manager.
We’d like to hear from people who can: deliver excellent service to our visitors, in an efficient and friendly way, safely and in accordance with our procedures; open and close the site, greet visitors, give them information about the museum and its history; and ensure they have an enjoyable experience in a clean and safe site. You will also be required to work regularly in the café, preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, and café food items, taking payments for sales, clearing tables and cleaning. You will work alongside other cafe staff and look after a team of volunteer stewards in the museum.
